Smart Glasses with Eye Tracking Make Perception Under Pressure Visible in Real Time – and Trainable for Real-World Operations.
Vienna/Nuremberg, February 23, 2026 – Viewpointsystem and Black Trident announced their international sales partnership at Enforce Tac 2026. From now on, Black Trident will distribute Viewpointsystem’s eye-tracking-enabled smart glasses and integrate the technology into the training programs of the Black Trident Academy.
The shared goal: to sustainably advance training for security and operational personnel – practical, measurable, and consistently focused on managing complex situations in real-world scenarios. The partnership addresses the needs of military units as well as police, medical, and emergency services
Rethinking Training: Targeted Improvement of Perception Under Pressure
Traditional training approaches primarily evaluate visible behavior – movement patterns, tactical decisions, and reaction times. Under real operational pressure, however, perception determines whether cues are recognized in time and threats are accurately assessed – ultimately shaping the ability to act decisively in critical moments.
Viewpointsystem’s eye tracking technology adds precisely this perspective to training. It shows in real time where an operator is looking, which areas of a situational picture receive attention, and which are overlooked. This makes it possible to see whether critical information is detected early or missed. For the first time, perception can be analyzed objectively and trained in a targeted way.
Deployment at the Black Trident Academy
At the Black Trident Academy, the technology will be used in selected training areas, including target discrimination, CQB training, and medical operational scenarios.
The Academy’s holistic training approach combines tactical, physical, and mental performance development. Eye tracking complements this concept as a precise analytical tool within scenarios. The goal is to measurably enhance situational awareness and operational capability under real pressure, preparing personnel even more effectively for deployment.
Statements on the Partnership
“In critical situations, safety depends on whether personnel perceive the right things at the right time,” explains Nils Berger, CEO of Viewpointsystem. “With Black Trident, we have gained a partner who not only distributes our eye tracking technology but also fully integrates it into training. This combination of technical expertise and operational application creates real added value for both personnel
and training centers.”
Wolfgang Rohrbacher, CEO of Black Trident, adds: “By integrating eye tracking glasses, we are providing personnel with a new, data-driven, and measurable dimension in training. Perception and decision-making can now be analyzed objectively – areas that previously could only be assessed to a limited extent through observation. Our partnership with Viewpointsystem bridges the gap between cutting-edge sensor technology and practical, operationally focused training.”
Black Trident contributes its extensive training expertise and international reputation in the defense sector to the partnership. Viewpointsystem provides a validated technology that enables mobile and practical analysis. Together, they are creating an approach that makes training systematically measurable and consistently operationally relevant.
Live Demo at Enforce Tac
Viewpointsystem’s smart glasses can be tested at the Black Trident booth (Hall 7A, Booth 7A-611) during Enforce Tac. Visitors gain insights into the live visualization of eye tracking data as well as concrete application scenarios.
