Imagine it’s the middle of the week, actually a normal working day, but instead of daily business it says “Inspire Day” on your calendar. Once a month at Viewpointsystem it is exactly like that. Then it’s time for “business as unusual”.
The Viennese deep-tech startup Viewpointsystem, the Graz-based mobility technology company AVL List and the Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien) are contributing their know-how to the development of novel neuromorphic chips. As part of the ambitious EU research project “NimbleAI” they will develop an innovative neuromorphic sensor processing solution.
The metaverse is one of the big buzzwords these days and not much more than a vision today. Many companies are committed to shaping the metaverse. And so are we. This is because eye tracking and, in particular, our Digital Iris technology offer the possibility of emulating authentic human gaze behavior on avatars. On 23rd and 24th of November 2022 the 19 project partners from across Europe gathered in Arrasate-Mondragón (Spain) to officially kick-start NimbleAI – the 3-year and 10 M€ research project which will improve energy-efficiency and performance of next-generation neuromorphic chips that sustain event-based vision. Their goal is to create an integral neuromorphic sensing-processing 3D silicon stacked architecture to efficiently run accurate and diverse computer vision algorithms in resource- and area-constrained chips destined to endpoint devices.
